GippsTech 2021

With a reputation as a premier amateur radio technical conference, GippsTech focusses primarily on techniques applicable in the VHF, UHF and microwave bands, especially for weak-signal contacts.

Eastern Zone Amateur Radio Club Inc. regrets that it must announce the cancellation of the 2021 edition of GippsTech.

We had expected that the vaccination rollout would have progressed further by now, along the lines announced by government earlier in the year. Instead, we have seen further delays to vaccine delivery, media and public confusion regarding vaccine safety, and hesitancy to be vaccinated. Whilst some of these issues have reduced in recent weeks, we have seen the Delta variant having significant impact in NSW, and its subsequent spread to Victoria. The collective opinion of the Committee is that the situation will not have resolved sufficiently to permit a GippsTech 2021 Conference to proceed in early November 2021.

The Committee considered other options, but has decided to cancel the 2021 event.

We hope that we will be able to hold the event in 2022. We have not yet discussed a possible time frame for a 2022 Conference.
